Natural Remedies for Oily Skin

Have you experienced so much grease on your face?  Oily face is such a disgrace.  You feel that your face is like a frying pan where you can fry your eggs anytime.

What is more disgusting about having an oily face is that you get all kinds of skin impurities which can make the surface of your skin look worse.

Pimples and acne may appear all of a sudden and before you know it, all of your faces is now covered with acne.  This is the downside of having an oily skin.

One problem with oily skin is the overproduction of oil which sometimes caused the blockage of pores which may cause pimples and acne and other skin blemishes.

Oily skin means you have a very active sebaceous gland which primarily results to an oily surface of the face.  Dryness of the skin is not good, neither is the overproduction of oil. As we always say, anything that is too much is not good for you.

We need to know what causes oily skin and how can we reduce the oil on our face?  Oil is not only an awkward feeling but also it creates a dirty feeling on our body.  When our face and skin is oily, we feel that our skin is becoming dirty. We feel the need to wash it daily or as often as we can.

Oily skin seems to be a normal thing for adolescent teenagers who are undergoing a big change in their lives.  The physiological changes that happen in their body cause the overproduction of sebum which causes it to become oily.

Oily skin cases naturally fade away as the teenagers grow into adults, but as we say, the case is always different from one person to another.  There are many individuals who seem to outgrow the oily skin syndrome span but there are some who do not.

It is becoming a little bit awkward to have oily skin which always feels greasy every time.  When you have that grease on your face, you always feel that your skin is sweaty even if you have just gone out of the shower.

These may not totally change your type of skin but at least it can augment and lessen the occasion in which the oily skin occurs.

Ways of Putting Off the Shine on your Face:

  • Regular Cleansing of the Face

Once you have an oily skin, it is but normal that you need to wash it regularly.  For someone who has a dry skin, this may sound odd, because frequent washing for a dry skin may lead it to more dry feeling.

That is exactly what we are pointing out here.  Oily and dry skin is the exact opposite.  What the dry skin opposes is what the oily skin needs.  We need something to dry off the oil.

Remember to wash off your sweat from your skin and you need to rinse it off well to avoid the perspiration in getting into your sweat glands.

We want to do this to avoid clogging of the pores which may cause a pimple, acne and other skin blemishes.

  • Salicylic Acid

The use of salicylic acid on beauty products like astringent and the likes can greatly combat the presence of oil on your face.

Salicylic Acid helps in the exfoliation of the skin.  We need to exfoliate our skin to remove the dead skin cells that accumulated in time because of oil and dirt.

  • Lemon juice

Lemon juice contains citric acid which can help secrete the excess oil from your face.

Lemon juice works like an astringent to your face. Mix it with one tablespoon of distilled water and apply it on your face with a  cotton ball.  Leave it on for a few minutes then rinse it well.

Do this religiously for three weeks and you will notice a great change in your skin.

  • Egg whites

Egg whites are very rich in vitamin A. It can effectively secrete out oil from your skin and it can leave your skin firm and tone.  With egg whites, it can help your skin stretch out and removes all traces of fine lines and wrinkles.

To do this, you need to whip egg whites and mix it with two drops of lemon. Mix it well then apply to your skin.  Leave it on for at least 15 minutes and rinse it well with a warm water.

After washing, you will feel your skin gets tighter and firmer.

  • Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.  This is also true with your skin.  An apple can keep the glow on your skin.  Apple is known to be one of the best exfoliants for our skin.

It contains a mild astringent and antiseptic properties which can work well on oily skin.

You can grate an apple and place the shredded parts on your skin. You can also combine the shredded apples with some lemon juice and yogurt to form a paste and apply on your skin. Leave this on for a few minutes then rinse with water.

  • Milk

Milk is the best natural exfoliants for the skin.  Ever heard the Romans like Cleopatra engaging in a milk bath?  That is simply because they believe that milk contains a natural exfoliant that could help smoothen the skin.

Milk contains alpha hydroxy acids which are best in the gentle exfoliation of the skin and brings back the natural ph balance of the skin.

You can apply milk directly onto your skin and leave it on for a few minutes. Rinse it well and do this religiously for about three months and you will notice your skin returns to its original glow.

Drinking milk is also good for the body and the skin as well, just don’t drink the milk after applying to your skin.
