Solutions to Big Pore Problems

People with bigger pores are said to have rough faces.  These pores appear to be big holes on their faces which are not good to look at.

What is the major cause of bigger pores?

Our skin produces oil or sebum which is needed by our skin to make it waterproof and to prevent the skin from drying out.

Normally, people with oily skin usually have bigger pores than those who have normal or dry skin.  It happens when your skin starts collecting dirt and the oil secreted from your own skin will form and block together causing your skin pores to swell.

This will make your pores look larger than normal. Another factor is the formation of pimples and acne.  This is but considered normal for people with oily skin.  Oily skin normally is prone to a pimple and acne.

This is not usually the case.  Not all a pimple infected people develops larger pores but it can be a result of large acne.  A pimple and acne marks may form a big scar that would look like bigger pores.

Large pores are usually an issue of concern for most people because it is not good to look at and the skin really looks rough.

Older people tend to have larger pores than the others.  This is because as we get older the skin loses its elasticity which can then make the pores look or appear bigger than the usual.

Sun damage can also affect the appearance of pores.  As they say, the older you become, the more exposure you get from the sun.  Sun damage can thicken the skin and stretches the appearance of your pores.

  • Gender

Gender plays a big role in the appearance of pores.  Males have bigger pores than the female population. However, women may have bigger pores during their menstrual period or hormonal changes but this usually comes back to normal again.

  • Genetic Factor

This is the fact that you cannot deny.  If you have a genetic factor or born with it, you cannot avoid having larger pores.

Keeping the skin clean is important.  You have to wash the face in order to remove the excess oil on your face. It keeps the size of the pore considerably small by removing the excess dirt and oil on the skin.

  • Exfoliate the skin

Skin exfoliation is needed for people with larger pores.  If it is normally oily, exfoliation is expected for about two to three times a week.

Exfoliation removes the dead skin particles from your skin which allows the skin to breathe properly.  Naturally, people with oily skin have larger pores.  Exfoliating the skin regularly will help shrink the pores or make it appear smaller than normal.

  • Use Sunblock

Too much sun can extremely damage your skin and affects the size of your pores.  It is advisable that you used sunblock to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

Use a sunblock with higher SPF and try to avoid the sun from 10 am to 4 pm daily,  This is the time when the sun is at its dangerous level.

You can also use blotting papers to remove the excess oils on your face.

  • Eat Well

Eating right is the key to healthy skin.  Just choose the right food to eat.  Avoid oily food and sugary food.  These foods can aggravate the acne problem and can produce more oil on your glands.

Fruits and vegetables are the best food that complements the skin.  Eat more of these kinds of food and you will notice the glow in your skin.

  • Never go to sleep with makeup on

Never sleep without washing your face especially if you have your makeup on.  Make-ups along with the dirt and oil collected in your skin throughout the day will clog the pores even more.

A clogged pore will expand it and make it look larger.  It will eventually cause more serious problems.
